PURPOSE
The Western Michigan Treasury Management Association (WMTMA) is a regional affiliate of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). The WMTMA began in 1980 for the purpose of providing professional and educational services to treasury professionals in West Michigan. This non-profit organization also provides a forum for developing and improving the techniques of contemporary treasury and financial management, as well as the opportunity to network with other treasury management and financial professionals.
Members of the WMTMA come from a broad range of businesses including: large multinational corporations, international, regional, and local financial institutions; small and medium manufacturing and service companies; and area colleges and universities.
PROGRAMS
Dinner and lunch meetings are held each year at various locations throughout Grand Rapids, on the second Tuesday of the month, generally, September through April, excluding December. We also have our annual golf outing in June.
These meetings offer the opportunity to discuss relevant treasury management issues with other members and to hear formal presentations from regional financial professionals. Topics focus on economics, domestic and international treasury management issues, legislation, and technology.
